The perfect T-shirt for all the digital DJs out there.
Gustavo Bravetti has come up with some amazing controller techniques that he uses in his Ableton Live DJ sets — check out the video below! In it, he uses a light sensor, glove controller, and a cool multi-pad surface. He’s definitely pushing the boundaries of live electronic DJ performances. Cool stuff.
And Bravetti isn’t just another [...]
This one is for the music scholars out there. Check out Hans T. Zeiner-Henriksen’s paper entitled The Most Significant Beat, a comparative study of changes in bass drum sounds from 70’s disco to electronic dance music of the 1980s and 1990s.
Like that band you heard on MySpace but hate that you can’t download the embedded tracks? The MySpaceMP3 service solves that problem, letting you download any MP3 from a MySpace page. I am pretty sure, however, that this thing only works if the MySpace player is being used on the page.
And yes, apparently people still [...]

I’m not quite sure how I stumbled upon this, but Bootlegs Addict has an extensive list of links to hundreds of mash-ups awaiting your download. Even a few DJ Matt Hite ones in there which is always good to see! (You can of course always grab my mash-ups and remixes from Beatmixed, too.)
Mash-up fans rejoice!
Everyone seems to be hating on it at Engadget, but I certainly wouldn’t mind performing on this baby grand that has been retrofitted as a DJ rig. It’s the ultimate DJ coffin!
(Thanks DJ Tripp!)
