Elevate

Morgan Page is set to drop his debut album, Elevate, on March 25th. Known best in the underground remix world for his bootleg Cease & Desist album, Morgan has gone legit to release a collection of official remixes and original material in cooperation with the Nettwerk music label.

The lovely folks at Nettwerk are making a preview of the first single, “The Longest Road,” available as a stream. Give these links a try if you want to hear it:

Here’s what Morgan has to say about each of the tracks on Elevate:

01) MORGAN PAGE FEAT. LISSIE - ‘THE LONGEST ROAD’
House music meets Nashville. This song features Lissie - one of the most exciting new singers I’ve heard in years. This song is all about fusing organic folk influences with the edge and energy of electronic music.

02) MORGAN PAGE FEAT. TYLER JAMES - ‘CALL MY NAME’
A bit of Royksopp with a dance-rock edge. Tyler James radiates a bit of a Chris Martin-esque vibe He’s got such a cool presence to his voice - it fit the track perfectly. I heard him play at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood and immediately said - let’s get this guy in the studio!

03) THE SUBMARINES - ‘PEACE AND HATE’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
A dark yet hopeful remix. I wanted to give this song a bit of extra drama. It’s got an eerie feel to it, and then it goes all happy at the end.

04) MORGAN PAGE FEAT. MATT WASLEY - ‘FADE AWAY’
A breaky, rock influenced song with a pop edge and some epic moments.

05) JENNY OWEN YOUNGS - ‘F**K WAS I’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
Dirty words, strings, and atmospheric guitars - this is a quirky and introspective take on the original.

06) LEIGH NASH - ‘NERVOUS IN THE LIGHT OF DAWN’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
Leigh Nash’s love song gets the bleepy electro treatment with some guitars and heavy delays.

07) BITTER:SWEET - ‘DIRTY LAUNDRY’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
Seductive vocals are punctuated by an addictive electro-line. My favorite part is the sliced up vocal hook and the big nasty breakdown.

08) NELLY FURTADO - ‘MANEATER’ (DAVID GARCIA & MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
A straight up take-no-prisoners, pumping, dirty club mix.

09) DELERIUM - ‘ANGELICUS’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
Operatic vocals meet progressive electro-house. Note the contrast of the rolling synthetic textures contrasted with the guitars.

10) MORGAN PAGE FEAT. CAMILA GREY - ‘ONE DAY’
This one’s got a bit of a breaks vibe complemented nicely by Camila’s sexy ethereal vox.

11) DENGUE FEVER - ‘SLEEPWALKING THROUGH THE MEKONG’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
Cambodian rock outfit Dengue Fever gets a Massive Attack styled makeover with a crunchy Wurlitzer bassline and chromatic percussion. Many people have described this as evoking the feeling of “flying over a landscape.”

12) UNDER - ‘UNDER’ (MORGAN PAGE REMIX)
The perfect end to a late night. I wanted to make this mix really dramatic and moody, while keeping the seductive quality in tact. It’s all about the big drop-out near the end. A great come-down track after a night of debauchery.

Morgan is a solid producer and his work has never disappointed me. I’ve always respected his DIY ethic; he really sets a great example for all amateur remixers out there to strive towards. Keep your eye on this amazing producer — he’s going places!
