Gustavo Bravetti has come up with some amazing controller techniques that he uses in his Ableton Live DJ sets — check out the video below! In it, he uses a light sensor, glove controller, and a cool multi-pad surface. He’s definitely pushing the boundaries of live electronic DJ performances. Cool stuff.
And Bravetti isn’t just another DJ hack. He’s clearly willing to get his hands dirty, having written and released his own Ableton Live extension to do live pitch bending. It’s called Push and Pull and in a nutshell it allows a DJ to nudge Ableton’s tempo in very small steps during a live performance. Great for mixing out of a vinyl or CD track and into an Ableton set.
