Ikea DJ Console

25-Apr-07

It’s no baby grand, but this Ikea DJ console will do the trick for those on a budget. And what DJ isn’t on a budget?

Also, check out these other cool instructables of DJ interest.

Cornucopia of Mash-Ups

24-Apr-07

I’m not quite sure how I stumbled upon this, but Bootlegs Addict has an extensive list of links to hundreds of mash-ups awaiting your download. Even a few DJ Matt Hite ones in there which is always good to see! (You can of course always grab my mash-ups and remixes from Beatmixed, too.)

Mash-up fans rejoice!

Baby Grand Master Piano

24-Apr-07

Everyone seems to be hating on it at Engadget, but I certainly wouldn’t mind performing on this baby grand that has been retrofitted as a DJ rig. It’s the ultimate DJ coffin!

(Thanks DJ Tripp!)

Warping Service

24-Apr-07

Don’t want to spend all that time warping your tracks in Ableton? I don’t blame you — it’s a major pain in the ass. These guys will do it for you — for a fee, of course.

24-Apr-07

ABC News has posted an interesting article on mash-ups, Greg Gillis (a.k.a. Girl Talk), and the current state of licensing and mash-ups.

If not, now is a perfect time to download it and give it a listen. It’s obviously something a bit different for me — notice there are no 80’s tracks involved. Hard [...]

The Secret Lives of MP3s

17-Apr-07

Doug Kaye demystifies MP3 encoding in this Podcast and Portable Media Expo presentation. Although his audience is primarily podcasters, there is a lot of useful information in the presentation that will prove helpful for DJs and musicians publishing audio on the net. Give it a listen!

April Bootie (I’m Playing!)

12-Apr-07

I’m excited to report that not only is San Francisco’s Bootie going on again this weekend, but I’ll be spinning in the upstairs room with my good friends David X and DJ Tripp. Both of these gentlemen are amazing DJs that you won’t want miss — certainly worth every penny of the Bootie cover charge. [...]

Average Homeboy

10-Apr-07

Oh, man, this is seriously bad. But funny. Do you think this “Average Homeboy” will ever get his big break?
