NIN “Survivalism” Remix Contest

Nine Inch Nails recently released the multitrack session stubs for Survivalism, the latest single off their forthcoming album Year Zero. Apparently the plan is to release the multitracks for all the tracks off this album. The big drawback, though, is that the multitrack stubs are available in Garageband-only format at this point. See the news posting under 3/13/07 for download details.

If you rename the remix pack to have the extension “.zip”, you can unzip all of the remix parts in AIFF format for use outside of GarageBand. :)

On the Year Zero site, the files there appear to be in ZIP format. There’s a folder in the archive labeled “media”. The “.aif” files are in there. Find a way to convert them to WAV format for best use on most programs. I used Sound Forge, as it’s file compatibility is very broad. This is how I got it to work on FL Studio.
