I have a number of remix contests that I wanted to mention, and instead of creating a bunch of separate posts I thought I’d just do this round-up. Remixers, start your engines!
8MM
Down tempo/trip hop duo. AcidPlanet is hosting the remix contest, inviting would-be remixers to work their magic on 8MM’s track, Songs To Love and Die By. Prizes include Vegas DVD, ACID Pro, Sony Walkman NW-A1200 MP3 player, and more! Contest closes Tuesday, December 19th, 2006.
Sarah McLachlan
Separated audio stems from Sarah McLachlan’s new song “The First Noel/Mary Mary” are now available for download. Note that there are more stems available in the for-sale “deluxe” version of the stems. Prizes include a video iPod, Sarah McLachlan vinyl, and more. Contest ends November 16th, 2006.
Coldcut
Looks like YourSpins.com has stems available for two Coldcut tracks. The tracks — “Whistle & A Prayer” and “Walk A Mile” – are from their new album. Don’t know much more than that on this one.
The Sims
Are you a Sims addict? Now’s your chance to remix the video game soundtrack. Winner will have their track featured on the official Sims Soundtrack. Contest ends November 30th, 2006.
