Bootie — the biggest mash-up bootleg club in the world — moves to the DNA Lounge for a grand re-opening on Friday, March 10th, 2006, with live mash-up band Smash-Up Derby. After two-and-a-half years of packing ‘em in, and cramming sweat-drenched bodies onto the dance floor of the Cherry Bar (now Annie’s Social Club), mash-up club Bootie is finally moving to a bigger venue — the DNA Lounge. In the past year, Bootie has been steadily outgrowing its cozy confines. Despite its move to a bigger venue, Bootie is staying true to its underground roots, spinning wildly eclectic mash-up creations and showcasing many local DJs.
Kicking off the grand re-opening of Bootie — now on second Fridays of the month — will be San Francisco’s own Smash-Up Derby, “the world’s only mash-up rock band.” The band is now the official Bootie house band, and will be performing at DNA Lounge each month, with special guest singers and musicians, along with new mash-ups specifically tailored for the night’s theme.
Bootie is located at the DNA Lounge, 375 11th Street, San Francisco. Doors open at 10 pm. 21+ w/ID. $6 cover before 11 pm, $10 after.
