During another one of my afternoon Googlefests, I stumbled upon this Wikipedia entry on do-it-yourself acapella creation. It needs some work, though — maybe some step-by-step examples and better explanations of the methods?

what exactly is a “‘instrumental removal’ filters” ?
I guess the net-wiki-friendly thing to do would be to edit the page directly…
rock, paper…
…even better, if you know TimG *he* should do a dump directly into that page.
well there are plenty of tutorials on it (including timg’s method) at http://www.makesomenoise.co.uk if they want to pad it out a bit
http://www.makesomenoise.co.uk just gave me a goddamn trojan virus!
How did it do that?
There’s this code at the end of the page:
which is a 1×1 pixel embedded frame of http://trafftrade.com/overkill/out.php which gave me the goddamn virus!
I tried posting the code in the comment above, but anyway, it’s a 1×1 pixel “iframe” tag that contains that URL above (for God’s sake, don’t go to it) in ASCII (”") codes.
Won’t even let me do the ASCII codes. I mean these things - http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm
Ah, according to my very smart virus researcher friend, you’re getting this:
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32protorideq.html
In any case, I’m removing our link to makesomenoise.co.uk until Andreas fixes this issue. I’m interested in hearing why he’s got this on his site…
