As song its a commerical pop hit, or rockist "underground" indy music. It seems this music is more about promoting Vh-1 and Clear Channel properties (Madonna, Gwen, Missy, etc) No wonder I hate mash-ups, Dangermouse, and electroclash so much...no imagination Haven't invotative DJs already been subtly sneaking in pop hooks, without pandering to the masses??
