ACID Pro 5 crashes all the time and it’s driving me nuts! Touching the scroll bars or zooming while a project plays nearly guarantees an abrupt crash and program termination. Even though I save all the time, there’s nothing more depressing than having to restart and figure out what’s been lost since the last save. All these crashes and my new-found appreciation for softsynths has led me to consider dropping ACID altogether and moving onto a full-fledged composition program. If you’re in the same boat as me, check out the Digital Music Doctor’s report on how Cubase SX and Cakewalk Sonar’s loop tools stack-up to ACID Pro 5.

Just a follow-up: I’ve been told that the scroll bar crashing in ACID has been fixed and will be available in the next incremental (5.0b) release. This is great news.
