Tyler, drop me a line at mhite@hotmail.com and I'll see if I can dig up the vocals. I might still have them.

I have both a mac G4 and a pc i built soely for music production. i have been a DJ producer for more than 6 years and frankly i use my pc way more purely based on compatablility and cost. i have a delta 10/10 audio card that ties in with all my old analog equipment, and midi gear. IMO reason kicks the crap out of any mac based program for flexability couple that with acid pro and cubase and you have a virtual studio. the part i relly dislike about the mac is the fact that A: its a pain in the ass to get it hooked up with my studio (not enough ports) and the hardware to connect it is way over priced, and i havent even talked about the software yet lol... the only thing i use on the mac is ableton live for live remixing at gigs as well as i use it with final scratch. ya mac's are great. but i can still build a PC just as good for half the cost.

PC uses that want to make music, need to get;

FL Studio 6 XXL Producer Ed.

Sonar 5 or 6 Producer ED.

Project 5 V2

Sound Forge 8.0

Sony ACID Pro

....

If you want to create a "NIN" sound, start with the RXP plugin with FL Studio, and look for the "Thunder Kit" for your drums.

Also, look to get the Slayer 2 plugin for guitar.

You can also check out Cubase, but, you can also just find the VST / VSTi / DXi plugins for it, and use them through FL Studio, and Cakewalk products. Remember, good plugins are a key, at least on PC's.

Don't belive everything you have read here, yes Mac's are preferred in the DAW world of music, however, with the right software, and pro, or near pro soundcards, you CAN make VERY good music, that once put to CD, noone would know the difference.

Hi, Brooke. I know a lot of people who are happy with Ableton Live on the Mac platform. Give that a try:

Good luck!

I'm interested in using my Powerbook to create mash ups. I'm a TOTAL beginner. Today, I tried combining two mp3's in Garageband, but I couldn't find any way to adjust the tempo of one track to match the tempo of the other. Is there a better program for creating mash ups on the Mac? One that doesn't require an engineering degree to understand, but still has time-stretching capabilities? It seems Acid Pro & Adobe Audition are only available for Windows and Mackie Tracktion seems pretty technical. Any advice for a newbie?

I downloaded the bittorrent file from above but it won't open. If I rename it to .zip it says the archive is corrupt in my unzip program. Is there something else I need to do to open a bittorrent file?
