USB DJ Mixer

These new mixers from Numark are on the right track as far as I’m concerned.  Personally, though, I would love to see Rane integrate the Serato Scratch interface into their high-end mixers.  I am looking forward to the day when DJ mixer manufacturers and software manufacturers get together to create a standard, open interface and protocol to permit the real-time control of audio on laptops using generic playback devices.  Until then, I will continue to be a wire jockey, wreaking havoc under the hoods of DJ installations to hook-up my Rane Serato controller.

For $US60 you get a mixer than can take laptops, record players, a mike, or any other type of sound source? That’s awesome.

I’d spend $60 on that straight away!
Sampler and laptop with a mixer in-between - awesome!

pcdj has a usb mp3 controller thats just like the cd controller on your rack mount cd player… its also rack mountable, and the herculese 1200 is a scratch pad in usb/software format… the screen looks just like a techniques 1200 and you can open 2 at the same time and run one n right and one on left outputs so all you have to do is put your mic in the usb interface and you have a pc and turntables and mic…and can scratch mp3s….its GREAT… and no need of anything but that and an amp and spkrs n you got a party….
