Gizmodo is running a review of the RipDigital service. I still don’t understand why anyone would pay these folks to rip CDs and return them as privacy infringing watermarked files! You’re better off paying the kid down the block to just rip them for you — it’s the only way you’ll be certain that big brother won’t have his hands in tagging your audio like they do animals on Wild Kingdom!

Doesn’t this sound like a great scam for a “company” to collect as much digital music THEY didn’t have to pay for? For the cost of 3 blank DVD’s vs 100 cd’s of your music collection?? Sounds a wee bit fishy to me. Lord knows I’D keep copies of everything I wanted…
they have had my cd’s for almost 4 weeks. I have emailed them for an update and I have been told that they are very busy-they should update there web site to tell prospective customers that you’ll get your CDs returned in 3-5 weeks not 3-5 days.
