Hello to Guardian visitors …

Thanks to IDC (whose new single Scratch fucking rocks) for writing in to let me know that UK rag The Guardian is featuring a prominent review of beatmixed in the Internet section of their weekend Guide. Here’s what they had to say:

Having first surfaced a couple of years ago with Freelance Hellraiser’s excellent splicing together of the Strokes and Christina Aguilera and Soulwax’s cheeky 2ManyDJs album, the fine art of the homemade remix mash-up is booming online. This excellent blog, about what its creator Matt Hine (sic) calls bastard pop, will help keep you informed about interesting mixes such as the classic combination of Eminem and ragtime piano. There’s also links to a project that radically remixes the whole of Blur’s Parklife album (http://parkspliced.gybo.org), contests to rework the likes of Miles Davis, new software, tutorials and to leading masher like Andrew Herring – a DIY DJ who has done something truly disturbing to Bryan Adams. Hurrah!

I love free publicity but please note that my last name is actually HITE and not Hine. I won’t complain about the free press though, especially in a publication with as much distribution as the Guardian!

So welcome Guardian readers — take a look around, be sure to download some of my mash-ups, and visit often!
