Mash-up artist IDC releases 12″ single

The first single written, performed and produced by beatmixed friend and fellow mash-up artist IDC is set to release on June 21st. “Scratch” is a 12″ record backed with “047″ and “Chanter” and comes complete with a free CD containing the 3 tracks plus the radio edit of “Scratch.” Lewis Dene of DMC Update/DJ Magazine gives “Scratch” a 5 out of 5 review and says,

Influenced by the Scissor Sisters, ‘Scratch’ further pushes the boundaries of ‘electro-disco’ and creates an extremely appealing and highly commendable funked up number that DFA or A Touch Of Class should be proud to release.

I’ve got my hands on an advance copy and it definitely rocks. I just wish 047 and Chanter were also on the CD they sent, but I suppose I’ll just have to hold out until the official release. This is no mash-up track and it really showcases IDC’s polished production talent. Corsair Records is definitely a hot label to watch and if things are still on track at the label, we should expect to see a Corsair release from Soundhog in the near future. Keep up the great work, IDC, and let us left coasters know when you hit the U.S. for a DJ set. Here are some upcoming IDC dates in the UK + Europe:
