If you call yourself a remixer, or even an aspiring one, you are hopefully familiar with Razormaid. The semi-complete history of Razormaid’s conception and evolution over the years is available on their web site. It’s an honest and inspiring recollection of what it took to make it all work. Art (rest in peace) and Joseph at Razormaid will always be remixing legends in my mind.
Personally, I cherished each and every Razormaid I ever got my hands on. I still have a few in my collection, and I’m always throwing them into the mix when I’m playing out. Think about the patience and trial-and-error it takes to remix with tape, folks. We’ve got it easy in this day and age of digital editing!
