Surprise discovery in Apple’s GarageBand loop file format

There’s a thread over at OS X Audio detailing what appears to be an exciting discovery in Apple’s GarageBand loop file format. It appears GarageBand intends to one-up Acid’s loop format by storing not only the rendered loop data, but also the MIDI information, patches, and effect presets used to create the loop. This is a big deal, at least for those of us who purchase loop sample CDs. Thanks to Victor over at Virtual Turntable for sending this bit in!
